A 30-year-old man allegedly bludgeoned his brother-in-law to death after the latter refused to lower the volume of television set in Nihal Vihar area of west Delhi, police said today.

According to police, the incident took place last night when the accused, Harichand, was at his in-laws' house.

His 11-year-old brother-in-law was watching television at a high volume. "Harichand was constantly nagging about the high volume. He soon lost his patience and allegedly attacked the boy with a stone. He crushed his face with the stone and locked the door from outside and fled the spot," a police officer said.

At the time of incident, no other family member was at home. When the boy's parents returned home, they found the house locked from outside.

"When they entered the house, they found their son lying in a pool of blood. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival," the police officer said.

A case of murder has been registered at Nihal Vihar police station and efforts are being made to trace the accused.
