A case of attempt to murder was registered against unidentified persons in connection with firing at a man to forcefully evict him from his land at Karodiya village near the town today, police said.
The complainant, Parmalsinh Kabhai Chauhan alleged that around 15 to 20 people waylaid him and someone among them fired a round at him and another in air, but he ducked in time.
Confirming the incident, police sub inspector B M Vasava said a case for attempt to murder and illegal possession of arms has been registered and nine members of the gang have been identified.
