Tools used for burglary were also recovered from their possession, he added.
"They have been arrested in connection with the theft at the house of former sarpanch of village Gadoli in Gurugram," he said.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they were active for the last 10-11 years.
"They would migrate to different states from their village in a group of five to six persons, including women and children, and set up camps near the railway station, bus-stand and flyovers.
"During daytime, they used to sell balloons and other small items to identify houses which could be easy target for committing theft at night.
"At night, they would commit theft in a group of four- five persons by removing grills of houses identified. They would steal gold and silver jewellery and then give the booty to their women, who would go to MP and sell it to goldsmiths there. They would later divide the cash among themselves," he said.
He said the duo will be sent to police remand after they are produced before a court here.
