A 21-year-old man, who allegedly killed his employer - a contractor has been arrested, police said today.
The accused, identified as Umesh Kumar, allegedly shot dead Tapan (40) at Mathura, as he suspected him to be involved in an illicit relation with his wife, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said.
According to police, Kumar and Tapan met around a year ago at a water treatment plant in Delhi, following which Kumar started working for Tapan, who was an contractor for electrical works.

In November, Kumar allegedly found his wife in a compromising state with Tapan, following which Tapan allegedly threatened Kumar asking him not to disclose the matter and also asked him for the repayment of the loans.
On December 12, Kumar took Tapan to a village in the outskirts of Mathura in UP on the pretext of visiting his ailing mother-in-law, where he allegedly shot dead Tapan with a country-made pistol at a field and took away his belongings, so that his identity could not be ascertained, before he fled.
Meanwhile, Tapan's brother-in-law informed the police on December 13 about his relative gone missing and investigation was taken up in northwest Delhi's Subhash Place police station.
The investigation took a turn when it emerged that a body, matching details pertaining to that of Tapan, was found by a factory security guard at a field in Dilotha village in the outskirts of Mathura. The body was, however, cremated after it could not be identified for 72 hours, said a police official.
On Thursday, Crime Branch was tipped of about Kumar and he was arrested by a police team from Mathura, the official added.
