Man who committed four murders in UP arrested by Delhi Police

A 24-year-old man, who allegedly murdered four persons in a span of 10 days in Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested from near Keshav Puram metro station here, police said today.

The accused, identified as Rohit Kumar alias Baba, a native of UP's Baghpat, was the active member of a UP-based gang headed by one Prince, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said.

Baba allegedly committed as many as four murders, two highway robberies and had fired at a police team in one case, following which he escaped, in a 10-days' span in December-January, said police.

"During interrogation, Baba admitted that he had murdered gang leader Prince in Ramala area to take charge of the gang on January 6 and also confessed to the other charges against him," Yadav said.
 

Police had received information yesterday that gangster Rohit Kumar alias Baba would come near Keshav Puram Metro Station to meet his associates and to commit a crime, following which trap was laid and the accused was arrested, police added.
