Man who took away mortgaged property docu from bank arrested

A man, accused of running away with document of his mortgaged property through which he had taken a loan of Rs 5 crore from a bank in Rajouri garden in west Delhi, has been arrested by the crime branch of Delhi Police.

A loan of Rs 4.99 crore was sanctioned by Axis Bank to a company, Abhishek Tubes, on a property of one of its director and partner Sunil Dutt, 53, in Gurgaon.

Dutt allegedly visited the Vishal Enclave branch of the bank in Rajouri Garden on June 2 and on some pretext convinced bank staff to show him the papers of his mortgaged property which he ran away with later, said Ravindra Yadav, Joint CP (Crime) of Police.
 

The bank employees chased him but in vein. Dutt was arrested from Gurgaon on a specific input in the wee hours of June 16, the officer said.

A case in this connection was registered by Rajouri Garden police, added the officer.
