A man, who was on the run for past one week after allegedly torturing and physically harassing his 19-year-old daughter for several months, was today arrested here, police said.
Accused Ramesh, an employee with BSNL, was today arrested from here, eight days after police with the help of an NGO rescued the girl, who had been kept in confinement by her father and stepmother, Deputy Commissioner of Police (L B Nagar Zone) Tafseer Iqbal told PTI.
Shyamala was arrested earlier, but Ramesh was absconding since the incident came to light.

Injury marks were also visible on other parts of her body that indicated that she was meted out physical harassment, police had earlier said.
The victim is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital here and her condition was stable, the officer said.
The girl has multiple abrasions, cut marks, burns and is suffering from severe respiratory distress, malnutrition and invisible internal injuries, doctors who were treating her, had earlier said.
During probe it was revealed that the girl was tortured by her stepmother and father with an intention to pocket her property, police had said.
The girl had been staying in an orphanage since 2010 following the death of her mother Sarala.
Ramesh had married Sarala in 1991 and divorced her in 2003 and the girl was staying with her mother since then till her death in 2010. Ramesh brought his daughter back home later in December that year.
Following media reports on the incident, a division bench of Hyderabad High Court, had sought full details of the girl and status of the case from the state government.
L B Nagar police had registered a case on charge of attempt to murder and under other sections of IPC against the victim's father and stepmother.
