Man, wife, daughter killed after truck hits motorcycle

A 48-year-old man, his wife and daughter were today killed after their motorcycle collided head-on against a truck in Chhattisgarh's Dhamtari district, police said.

The incident took place near Aamdi Nagar panchayat on the Dhamtari-Gunderdehi road when they were heading towards Gunderdehi, a police official said.

The deceased were identified as Kachruram Sahu (48), his wife Janki Bai (45) and daughter Saroj (21), all from Chhattisgarh's Balod district.

Eyewitnesses said the speeding truck, coming from the opposite direction, hit the motorcycle.

Kachruram, his wife and daughter suffered severe injuries and died on the spot, the official said, adding the truck driver escaped from the spot leaving the vehicle behind.
