Shabbar Amirali Kassam was detained on his arrival from London by flight BA-139 after he had cleared the green channel on Tuesday.
Detailed examination of his baggage revealed the dutiable goods which had not been declared by him, Commissioner of Customs P M Saleem said in a release here.
The goods were confiscated under the provisions of Customs Act, 1962, read with Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) 2000 and rules and regulations made thereunder.
In his statement recorded under Section 108 of the Customs Act, Shabbar admitted the possession, carriage, non-declaration, knowledge and recovery of the seized goods. Further investigations are in progress, the release said. PTI SVS DK
