ManageMySpa raises Rs 38.5 cr from Accel

ManageMySpa, a mobile and cloud based technology platform for the beauty and wellness industry, today said it has raised a funding of USD 6 million (about Rs 38.5 crore).

The Series A financing round was led by Accel Partners.

The investment will allow the company to accelerate its sales and marketing growth globally and to expand its mobile product offering, ManageMySpa said in a statement.

While the company is headquartered in Seattle, US, significant investments are continuing to be made into the India market, it added.

Geometric Q1 net profit at Rs 19.13 crore * IT firm Geometric today said its net profit slipped marginally to Rs 19.13 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2015 from Rs 19.21 crore in the year-ago period.
 

However, the company's revenues grew 10.6 per cent to Rs 297.56 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 268.85 crore in the April-June 2014 quarter.

In dollar terms, its revenues rose 4.1 per cent year-on-year to USD 46.80 million from USD 44.96 million a year ago.

It signed new deals worth USD 13.65 million and added one new customer. It had a total employee strength of over 4,800 employees as of June 30, 2015, including its subsidiaries.

IndianRoots join hands with NGO

* IndianRoots.Com, an eCommerce venture of NDTV group, has joined hands with an NGO, Craftroots.

Run by Anar Patel (daughter of Gujarat chief minister Anandiben Patel), Craftroots has been working with Gujarat artisans for over two decades.

IndianRoots, with its wide reach among Indian and NRI patrons, will act as an enabler to highlight and promote the goods by artisans of Gujarat, a statement said.

Earlier this month, IndianRoots had launched a tie-up with Banka Silk from Bihar.

ICICI Bank launches recharge facility for Delhi Metro cards * ICICI Bank has launched a new recharge facility for Delhi Metro cards. Any card holder of Delhi Metro can now recharge his metro cards at close to 1000 mRUPEE outlets of Mobi Wallet Payment Systems Limited (MMPL), a business correspondent of ICICI Bank.

"This service is yet another innovative addition to our wide array of mobile-based services. It offers a convenient choice of recharge to lakhs of DMRC commuters near their homes and offices," ICICI Bank Limited Executive Director Rajiv Sabharwal said in a statement.
