A 38-year-old manager of a company was arrested for allegedly trying to molest a young employee at a hotel here, police said today.

Javed Hazi, working as a district manager with a utility vehicle and farm equipment company, allegedly called the girl to a hotel yesterday under the pretext of some work and tried to molest her inside his room, they said.

However, the girl raised an alarm following which activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajarang Dal, who were apparently informed by the girl in advance barged inside the room and thrashed him, police said.

Hazi was booked under section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of IPC.
