Manandeep named in three categories for FPAI awards

19-year-old Manandeep, who has scored eight times in 12 appearances in only his second season with the airmen, has been nominated in the best Indian Player, Young Player of the Year and Fans Player of the Year category.

Mohun Bagan's Syed Rahim Nabi and Francis Fernandes of Salgaocar are the two other players nominated for the Indian Player of the Year award, while CS Sabeeth of Pailan Arrows and Churchill Brothers' Lanrindika Ralte have been named in the Young Player of the Year category.

Pune FC's Derrick Pereira, East Bengal's Trevor Morgan and Armando Colaco of Dempo have been nominated for the Coach of the Year award.

 

The nominees for the Foreign Player of the Year included Pune FC's Douhou Pierre, Ranty Martins of Dempo and Odafa Okolie who plays for Mohun Bagan.

Those nominated for the Fans Player of the Year along with Manandeep, were Ranty, Odafa, Fernandes and East Bengal's Sanju Pradhan and Tolgay Ozbey.

For the awards more than 230 players have voted across 14 I-League clubs and the players/coaches with the highest 3 votes have been identified.

Voting for the Fans Player of the Year is open till Wednesday.

There is also a prize to be awarded to the best managed/run club that is selected by the 15 members of the Football Players Association of India executive committee.
