The park remains closed for almost six months during the rainy season every year and reopens with the onset of winter, its Project Director Anindya Swargiary told reporters today.
Asked about the infrastructure condition of the park which sustained heavy losses during three waves of flood this year, Swargiary said most of the damage was taken care of.
Last year, 20,000 domestic and 213 foreign tourists visited the park, he said.
