Singer-actress Mandy Moore says she misses singing a lot and wants to get back to music.

The 32-year-old "Chasing Liberty" star said television and films have always been her priority but now she is planning to switch back to music, reported People magazine.

"Life sort of put it on the back burner. I think being in films and trying to do television has always been such a huge priority for me... I feel like it gave me way more opportunities than music.

"I've been writing for the last seven years, since I put out a record. So I have a wealth of music to choose from," Moore said.

The actress also said her new music will drive inspiration from the last two years of her life.

"I feel like a lot has happened in the last two years of my life that I want to be able to put into music - and it'll be cathartic.

"I think I have a lot more colorful experiences to bring to the table at 32 than I did at 22... I feel overwhelmingly empowered. I'm really happy. Nobody could pay me money to go back 10 years ago. I know who I am. I feel comfortable in my skin more so than I ever have, and I want my music to reflect that," she said.
