Union Minister Maneka Gandhi today batted for more teeth to National Commission for Women (NCW) by giving it powers to summon and punish.
Advocating the empowerment of the NCW, she said that it should have the powers to summon and punish, according to an official release.
The Union Minister for Women and Child Development said this while addressing the concluding session of a national thematic workshop on the best practices for women and child development here.
The concluding session of the workshop was also addressed by Maharashtra Women and Child Development Minister Pankaja Munde.
