Manhunt launched against four men for allegedly killing youth

The Thane police has launched a manhunt for four people, who are originally from Uttar Pradesh, who allegedly killed a youth in Kolsewadi of Kalyan and made an attempt to destroy evidence, police sources said here today.

Senior police inspector S L Daule of the Kolsewadi police station told PTI today that the victim and the accused were labourers involved in fixing of sheets on roofs.

They lived together in the limits of the Kolsewadi.

It was on March 7, that the police received a complaint from the victim's brother that the youth had been tied to a pole in the house and beaten to death by the accused.
 

The police said that the exact motive behind the killing is being probed.

The victim and the accused were residents of the same village in UP and also lived together in Kalyan, police sources said.

The police gave the name of the victim as Golu Lallan Jaiswar (26) and the accused have been identified as Rimu, Sanjay, Lalman and Bhagat.

An offence under Section 302, Section 201 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused, though no arrest has been made so far, the police said.
