Manhunt on for two people who dumped new born into a creek

The Thane police booked two people including a doctor for allegedly dumping a new born inyo a creek and killing it, the police said here today.

Assistant police inspector S T Bendre of the Mumbra police station quoting a complaint lodged late last night stated that it was around 22 days ago, the duo had packed the kid in a bag and flung it into a creek near the crematorium situated between the Shilphata Diva Road and Mauli Hospital at Kalyan Phata.

They did this allegedly to destroy evidence, the police said and identified the accused as Javed Akhtaar Khan alias 'Javed Bhai' and a doctor called Asif.
 

A manhunt has been launched for the duo, who have been booked under Sections 315, 201 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code, the police said.
