Manika Batra meets Kejriwal, Sisodia

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today assured paddler Manika Batra of providing government support in all her endeavours as the latter met him at his residence here.

Batra also met Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia with her coach Sandeep and Delhi Table Tennis Association's president Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

After the meeting, Kejriwal tweeted, "Delhi govt is always wid u (Batra) and will support u in all ur endeavours (sic)."

"Met our Chief Minister @ArvindKejriwal sir at his residence today with my coach Sandeep Sir. CM sir promised me full support for future competitions (sic)," Batra also tweeted.

She said that during the meeting, the deputy chief minister assured her of full support in providing dedicated training hall in Sarvodya Vidyalya, Pitampura and also making better sports policy for athletes and coaches.

 

During the budget session of the Delhi Assembly in April, Sisodia had said that the Delhi government would give Rs 14 lakh to Batra for winning a gold medal in Table Tennis at the Commonwealth Games 2018 in Australia.

The reward would be given to Batra under the sports policy of the government, he had announced.
