Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has announced an ex-gratia of Rupees two lakh to the next of kin of the 22 victims who died in three road mishaps yesterday.
Singh also announced a sum of Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 for those with serious and minor injuries respectively, a statement issued by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) said yesterday.
The police had said that 19 people were killed and 44 injured in three accidents at Chakhumai and Lairouching areas in Senapati district and Khongsang in Tamenglong district respectively.
Three persons had died on way to the hospital yesterday, the police said today.
