Foreign students, seeking admission to the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) here, will now need to submit a report on HIV status.

This is perhaps for the first time that an educational institute in the state has sought foreign students to submit a report on HIV status before admission.

The management of MANIT said that it has decided to seek HIV report from students only as a precautionary measure.

MANIT, a reputed institute, was one of the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges in India and attracts students from across the country and abroad.
