Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi today adopted Teghraha-Bokhraha village in Madhepura district under 'Mukhyamantri Adarsh Gram Yojana.'
The village had shot into limelight when 125 dacoits had surrendered before the then Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in 2006 and joined the mainstream.
Manjhi today announced Rs 1.5 lakh and land to each of the 125 surrendered dacoits.

Under the scheme at this rate 2670 villages in 534 bocks would be adopted.
The villages adopted should have substantial population of SC/ST. Besides making available basic amenities in the adopted villages, the program intends to ensure that benefits of government welfare schemes reach every beneficiary.
The chief minister accompanied by minister Narendra Singh and Madhepura Lok Sabha member Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav launched welfare projects worth Rs 38 crore in the Teghraha-Bokhraha village.
