Manmohan Singh, Sonia, Rahul to campaign for assembly polls

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi will campaign for the May 5 assembly elections in Karnataka.

As per tentative programme, Singh is scheduled to campaign in Hubli and Bangalore on April 29 and on May 2 at Mysore and Bangalore, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President G Parameshwar told reporters here today.

Sonia Gandhi will campaign at Chikamagalur and Mangalore on April 26, at Gulbarga and Belgaum on April 30 and at Mysore on May 2, he added.

Rahul Gandhi will campaign on April 23 at Bellary, Raichur and Bijapur, on April 28 at Kolar, Tumkur and Haveri. On the final leg on May 1 he will tour Mysore, Hassan and Shimoga.
 

Over 40 Congress stalwarts including Union Ministers, former Chief Ministers and senior leaders are expected to campaign to woo voters back to the party in the state.
