Manna Dey's condition "slightly better": Hospital

The condition of playback legend Manna Dey, undergoing treatment at a private hospital here for age-related and other complications, has shown "marginal improvement", hospital sources said today.

"His condition is slightly better than yesterday. There is marginal improvement. He is stable," sources at Narayana Hrudayalaya said.

The 94-year-old Dey, who has sung more than 3,500 songs in different languages, including Hindi and Bengali, in a career spanning seven decades, has made Bangalore his home after living in Mumbai for 50 years.

Dey, a Dadasaheb Phalke awardee, was hospitalised for chest infection on Saturday after his health deteriorated before which he was being treated at his home for the past couple of weeks.
 

His popular tracks include 'Poocho Na Kaise Maine' (Meri Surat Teri Aankhen), 'Ae Meri Zohra Jabeen' (Waqt), 'Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli' (Anand), 'Yeh Dosti' (Sholay) and 'Ek Chatur Naar' (Padosan).
