Manoj Bajpayee meets J&K tourism secretary

Tourism secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Rigzin Samphel met Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee here Wednesday and asked the film star to help change the 'negative perception' surrounding the valley.

During the interaction, the duo discussed the various tourist destinations in Jammu and Kashmir including Kargil and Leh in Ladakh region. Bajpayee is currently in the valley to shoot a web series -- Family Man, an official spokesman said.

The secretary requested Bajpayee to focus on changing the negative perception of the valley which was created by some persons with vested interests, the spokesman said.

Samphel said Kashmir used to be the most sought-after destination for the film industry and that the government is taking serious steps to revive the glorious old connection.

 

He said by doing serious filming here, Bollywood would contribute to banishing the negative perception.
