Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari, who is an MP from the city, has given about Rs 2 crore from his local area development fund for installing CCTV cameras in municipal corporation schools in his constituency, the party said today.
The amount of Rs 1.99 crore sanctioned by Tiwari from his Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) fund has been used to install 240 CCTV cameras at 15 schools of East Delhi Municipal Corporation in Shahdara North, a Delhi BJP statement said.
Tiwari represents north east Delhi Lok Sabha constituency in the Parliament.
"The CCTV cameras will not only ensure safety of the school children, it will also enable officials to monitor school staff's work," Tiwari said in the statement.
