Manpower audit of Prasar Bharati

A manpower audit of Prasar Bharati will be conducted and the Information and Broadcasting ministry has approached the Department of Expenditure under the Finance Ministry for it.

This information was shared by Minister of State for I&B Rajyavardhan Rathore in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha.

"On the request of Prasar Bharati, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has approached Department of Expenditure for conducting Manpower Audit of Prasar Bharati," Rathore said.

He also added that the Sam Pitroda Committee had given its report on Prasar Bharati on January 24, 2014.

He said that the ministry has asked Prasar Bharati to prepare an action plan for undertaking reviews, studies and audits on various issues for preparing a vision and strategy for the public broadcaster.
 

In response to another question, Rathore gave details of the revenue earned by Prasar Bharati during 2015-16 as per which All India Radio and Doordarshan had jointly earned Rs 804.48 crore up to December 2015.
