"I am not ruling out alliance with Congress. But the other fact is that I have not met any Congress leader yet. Amarinder Singh had invited me to join for a protest, but I could not go due to lack of time," Badal said here today.

Asserting that all opposition parties of the state share common concerns, Manpreet said he had asked Amarinder to organise a meeting of these parties to discuss state's political scenario.

"I have asked him (Amarinder) to organise a meeting of opposition parties, so that modalities to pull the state out of its current situation can be worked out," he said.

Backing Centre's decision on FDI, Manpreet slammed his uncle and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for opposing the move.

"Punjab's interests are larger than NDA's interests. No matter whether he (Chief Minister Badal) remains in NDA or not, he should not ignore interests of the state," Manpreet said.

Claiming that Badal's stand on FDI is "completely wrong", Manpreet asked the chief minister to first see how the move will "help" the common people and serve state's economic interests.
