Chinese Consul Ma Zhanwu today said many companies from his country wanted to do business with India.

A business delegation from China will be visiting India in mid-April, Zhanwu told reporters on the sidelines of a seminar on 'China-India Buddhist and Other Exchanges' here.

"Many Chinese companies have evinced interest to do business in India including the eastern region and we will be happy to have more economic interactions," Zhanwu said in reply to a question about how China saw India as an investment destination and the 'Look East' policy of the Centre.

He said the areas of interest were both manufacturing and services including tourism but he did not name the companies.
