Several companies from China are willing to invest in India and the number would go up in the coming days, Chinese Consul General in Kolkata, Ma Zhanwu said today.
Many of these companies were start-ups, Zhanwu told reporters on the sidelines of a cultural programme here.
The Chinese Consul General said in West Bengal, the firms have evinced investment interest in fields like agriculture, food processing, manufacturing, IT and the services industry.

To another question about how China viewed the 'Look East' policy of the government, Zhanwu said, "I understand the Central government in India as well as different state governments are very keen in developing economy, especially infrastructure."
There is a lot that India and China can do together in this regard, he added.
