Vaisakhi was employed as an Anganwadi sevika in Dalbhumgarh block and had cases pending her in connection with Maoist activities, Senior Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Kumar Jha said.
Claiming that Jharkhand has one of the best surrender policies, Jha appealed to the ultras to join the mainstream while assuring them of all benefits under the provisions of the rehabilitation package for surrendered ultras.
Asked whether the police has initiated steps to bring back the misguided youths back to the mainstream, Jha said, "We are utilizing all avenues to lure them back to the mainstream and some Maoists have expressed their keenness to return to normal life but nothing has materialized as yet".
Several cases were pending against Kanu Munda, Area Commander and a member of Bengal-Jharkhand-Odisha Regional Committee of the outfit, in the sub-division and still at large, he said.
