Maoist bandh affects three districts in Jharkhand

In Maoist dominated Manoharpur, Bandgaon, Sonua, Goilkera in West Singhbhum and Dumaria, Ghorabandha, Chakulia in East Singhbhum and Nimdih and Chowka in Seraikela-Kharswan district, a majority of shops and markets downed shutters, official sources said.

Long distance buses remained off the roads, while mining in West Singhbhum was badly affected, they said.

No untoward incident was reported, the sources said.

Rail services in Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway was normal with tight security arrangements made to ensure safety of passengers and railway property, Railway sources said.

The bandh was called in demand of immediate halt to 'Operation Green Hunt'.
