Security forces have apprehended a local Maoist commander and recovered a haul of ammunition from Odisha's Koraput district.
The arrest was made yesterday in Burgi police station area of Narayanpatna in the district, when a Border Security Force patrol was out for an anti-Naxal operation.
A senior official said the force, along with state police, apprehended the wanted local Maoist commander, Katru Tadingi (30), from his hideout and recovered explosives weighing 5kg, detonators, live rounds of .303 and a good quantity of electronic items used to make bombs.
Tadingi has been handed over to the local police for further interrogation, the official said.
