Maoists detonated five serial IED blasts and fired indiscriminately at the team of CAF (Chhattisgarh Armed Force) but none was injured in insurgency-hit Bijapur district.
The rebels exploded landmines between Bodli and Bhairamgarh under Bhairamgarh police station limits while a CAF's squad was patrolling in the region to ensure security to the Geedam-Bhopalpatnam road, Bijapur Superintendent of Police,K L Dhruv told PTI.
Security forces had launched patrolling from their Bodli camp.

However, when security forces retaliated heavily, rebels fled into the core forests.
Later, during searching, three explosives, one IED weighing 10 kg, were recovered from the spot, he said.
The powerful 10-kg IED was placed in a pressure cooker while two other low intensity bombs were kept in steel containers, the SP said, adding that the explosives were destroyed by the bomb disposal squad.
"No injuries were reported on either side in the incident," he added.
Soon after the incident, a combing operation was launched in the region to trace the attackers, he added.
