Maoist held with large quantity of ammunition

A Maoist has been arrested with large quantity of ammunition from a village under Dev police station area in Bihar's Aurangabad district, a police officer said today.

Acting on a tip off, security forces comprising CRPF and district police raided Karamdih village yesterday and nabbed a Maoist Chandan Kumar from his house with 330 ammunition of SLR and ten ammunition of semi-automatic rifle, Superintendent of Police (SP) Baburam said.

In addition, a bundle of copper wire and 15 m codex wire used for laying landmines were also seized from the ultra's house, he said.

Baburam said the district police had got a tip off about a self-styled CPI(Maoist) commander Abhijit Yadav's visit to Karamdih village for subversive activities, but he could not be found there, but the security forces succeeded in nabbing Yadav's associate, Chandan Kumar.
