Maoist surrenders before Telangana police

: A 28-year-old cadre of the banned

CPI (Maoist) from Sukma district of neighbouring Chhattisgarh surrendered before Telangana police on Sunday.

Sodi Unga, who joined the CPI (Maoist) in 2015, surrendered before police in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district of Telangana, police said in a release.

They said he came to realise that there was less support for Maoists among the public and decided to give up arms and lead a peaceful life.

Police requested all maoist cadres to give up their activities.
