'Maoist' with bullet injury found admitted in hospital

One person claiming to be a Maoist with a bullet injury was found admitted in a private hospital here today, a police official said.

The person was identified as Lakhyajit Barua of Ratanpur Balioni village under Sapakhowa police station of Tinsukia district in upper Assam, city Special Superintendent of Police A P Tiwari said.

Lakhyajit told the police that he was a Maoist and had sustained the bullet injury on his leg on October 21 in Arunachal Pradesh.

He was now under security cover, Tiwari said, adding the Tinsukia SP as well as the concerned SP in Arunachal Pradesh were contacted for necessary action.
