Maoists arrested from Khunti district in Jharkhand

Two members of an armed squad have been arrested from Naxal-affected Khunti district under the jurisdiction of Arki police station today, police said.

Their leader Kundan Pahan had recently surrendered before the police in Ranchi, the police said.

A team comprising district armed police and CRPF jawans was formed after the police got a tip-off that Maoists Ganesh Lohra and Sanika Munda were spotted in Arki area, Superintendent of Police Ashwini Kumar Sinha said.

The team conducted raids in the area and arrested the Maoists duo, Sinha said.

They were involved in various Naxal-related incidents, he said.
