Maoists' custody extended till December 4

The judicial custody of five Maoists, arrested on charges of sedition, conspiracy and for being members of outlawed organisatin, was today extended till December 4.

Judge Pongiappan extended the remand till December 4.

Roopesh was brought from a jail in Thrissur in Kerala, where he had been detained in connection with another case, while Shyna, Anup, Kannan and Veeramani, lodged in a prison here, were produced through video conferencing, police said.

They were arrested in Karumathampatti near here two years ago and detained under the National Security Act.

Roopesh raised slogans against the demonetisation when he was brought to the court.
