Maoists destroy two mobile towers

The Maoists blew a mobile tower in Jaihind Tendua village and set on fire another tower in Jantua village during the 'Bihar bandh' observed by them to protest the murder of their cadre Madan Yadav in police custody last week, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Sidharth Mohan Jain said.

The Maoists, said to be about ten in number, stormed into the two villages and asked the guards to flee before destroying the mobile phone towers, he said.

Meanwhile, the Barun police station in-charge Arun Kumar has been suspended in connection with the custodial death of the ultra, he said.
