Maoists get life sentence for killing policemen in blast

Five Maoists were today sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court for killing 11 policemen and injuring 58 others in a landmine blast in this district five years ago.

Pronouncing the verdict, the Lohardaga district judge (1), Anil Kumar Singh also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each on them for committing the crime on May 3, 2011.

All the five were arrested within months of the landmine explosion at Dhardhare village.
