Maoists held, landmines seized

The ultras were captured during a joint combing operation by CRPF, Special Operation Group (SOG) and state police personnel at Seriguda village under Gudari police station area, they said.

The red rebels were trying to plant landmines near a culvert when the security personnel caught them, police said adding two landmines, some fuse-wire and other materials were seized from the duo.

The two were identified as Kichhaguda of Lidlipadar village under Chandrapur police limit and Srabana Kedrenka of Gunduriguda village under the same area.

The two Maoists were allegedly involved in several offences including extortion and attack on police, they said adding the two were interrogated to extract information about rebel activities in the area.
