The Maoists have launched a misinformation campaign against the security forces saying bombs were being airdropped from helicopters at Naxal hideouts, a charge vehemently denied by the Home Ministry.

Bihar-Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh area committee of the CPI(Maoist) have circulated a press statement in some areas in Jharkhand that security forces were using helicopters to air drop bombs at their camps and some tribal villages.

The banned outfit claimed that many of their cadres were killed following the attacks by the security forces from air.

However, the Home Ministry strongly denied the allegation saying that it was nothing but "figment of imagination" of the Maoists who were gradually losing the fight against the security forces.

"It is a preposterous allegation. It is nothing but figment of imagination of some Maoist leaders," a Home Ministry official said.
