Armed Maoists torched five vehicles of a construction company at its workshop under Sarai police station area in Bihar's Vaishali district, police said today.
About 36 Maoists barged into the construction company's workshop located close to railway lines near Sarai railway station late last night and torched five vehicles, comprising earth-movers and road rollers, Sarai police station in-charge Ranjit Kumar said.
The ultras also left a pamphlet on the spot demanding that the construction company pay adequate compensation to those people whose land has been acquired for construction of the National Highway between Hajipur and Muzaffarpur, he said.
The Maoists further asked the construction company to not undertake road construction until making full payment of compensation to those whose land has been acquired, Kumar said.
