Armed Maoists today torched eight tractors at a brick kiln unit in a village within the Baligaon police station limits in Bihar's Vaishali district, a police officer said.
About 20-25 Maoists raided Agrail village in the wee hours and torched eight tractors belonging to one Md Iliyas Hussain, apparently to teach him a lesson for not providing adequate compensation to a landowner from whom he had taken a tract of land for setting up his brick kiln unit, Baligaon police station in-charge Ajay Kumar said.
The ultras left a leaflet on the spot asking him to pay levy and give adequate wages to labourers among other demands, he said.
A case has been lodged in this connection and raids were on to nab the Maoists responsible for the arson, Kumar added.
