Maoists torch road construction vehicles in Jharkhand

Suspected Maoists set ablaze five vehicles engaged in road construction work here, police said today.

"Around two dozen maoists set afire a dumper, a four wheeler, two tractors and a motorcycle at the construction site yesterday. They have also assaulted three construction workers," SP Akhilesh B Beriar said.

The two workers have suffered injuries in the incident and admitted to a nearby hospital, he said, adding that a massive combing operation has been launched in the area to track down the extremists.
