Maoists torch two tractors

Armed Maoists torched two tractors a contractor in a village under Chanan police station in Lakhisarai district, a police officer said today.

The incident took place late last night as a group of Maoists raided Bhandar village and torched two tractors of road contractor Siban Singh, Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar said.

Non-payment of levy to the Maoists by the contractor was stated to be motive behind torching of his vehicles, he said.

A case has been registered in this connection and raids were being carried out to nab the culprits.
