Haryana Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister O P Dhankar today said mapping would be conducted in those areas where crops have recently been damaged due to hailstorm.

Dhankar was responding to the issue of damage to crops caused by recent hailstorm raised by some MLAs in the Vidhan Sabha.

He said that Girdawari would be conducted in those areas which are not insured under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna, to assess the damage caused to the crops.

He said that Revenue Minister had already ordered mapping of the affected areas at the level of concerned Sub Divisional Magistrate along with the Block Development Officer and Tehsildar.

Earlier, Congress Legislature party leader Kiran Choudhary and Leader of Opposition Abhay Chautala sought from the BJP government to announce Girdawari to assess crop damaged caused by hailstorm.

Earlier during question hour, BJP MLA Prem Lata asked Dhankar what measures the government is taking to check stray cattle.

Dhankar replied that tagging process of cows was on and with this, it can be known that cows belonged to which cow shed.

INLD MLA Parminder Dhull suggested that Deras in the state can be asked to adopt stray cows as per total land area they own.

Dhankar described it as good suggestion and said the government will request Deras to adopt stray cows.
