"We will start economic blockade in the Santhal Parganas region from November 21 and Jharkhand bandh on the following day in support of the demand," party chief Babulal Marandi, who is on a dharna at Pachuwara in Pakur district since Friday in support of the demand, told reporters here.
The former chief minister said as per the existing bi-partite agreement between Panem and the villagers of Pachuwara, the company was supposed to complete all welfare projects at Pachuwara by 2007, "but nothing happened."
He said the people of Pachuwara and Aluweda villages would be benefitted if the government entered into a tri-partite agreement with Panem Coal Mines and the Raj Mahal Pahar Bacchao Samiti (RMPBS) in order to complete all welfare projects promised by the firm.
Despite requests being made by district officials, the Lok Sabha member said he would end his agitation only after getting a firm assurance from the administration on his demand.
