BJP today alleged that former chief minister and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) president Babulal Marandi was unable to "digest" the development works being done by the Raghubar Das government by a person (Das) who reached to the post from being a mazdoor.

"When Marandi was CM Jharkhand, administration was derailed and the state suffered from subsequent result," BJP's state unit spokesman Praveen Prabhakar said in a press release here.

Recalling the 2014 Assembly elections, Prabhakar said Marandi had lost from two seats, but still was "indulging in divisive politics".

Stating that Das worked well during the last two years, Prabhakar said the CM worked in the interest of tribals and natives and brought the state back on tracks.

Whatever issues had been there on the path of development were solved by the CM, Prabhakar said.

He said for the first time local policy had been defined by the state government, opening doors of jobs for the youths.

The simplification of Chhotanagpur Tenancy Act and Santhal Pargana Tenancy Act has given the tribals and natives self-sustenance along with maintaining the right over their land, Prabhakar said and asked Marandi as to why did he not take any step for tribals and natives when he was the CM.

"He should ponder over why people rejected him from two seats," the release quoting Prabhakar, said.
