The Marine Products Export Development Authority has registered an all-time high of Rs 18,856 crore in exports the last financial year, a top official said today.
"The exports of Indian marine products reached an all-time high of Rs 18,856 crore during the last financial year. MPEDA envisages an ambitious target of USD 4.3 billion for the (financial) year 2013-14," MPEDA Chairperson Leena Nair said in a statement.
Increased production of L.Vannamei Shrimp, quality control measures and increase in infrastructure facilities are expected to help in achieving this target, she said.

Commerce and Industries Minister Anand Sharma would inaugurate the three-day 'India International Seafood Show', Nair said, adding, more than 350 stalls, of which 40 per cent are from various countries, are expected to be put up.
According to her, marine products are exported to Japan, United States, European Union, China, South East Asia, and Middle East.
